10 years ago, the Spirits of Mexico concurrently launched in New York City and San Diego CA. We are proud of the distinctive tributes and commendations we have received through the years, including the 2012 designation as ‘Official Spirits of Mexico Appreciation Day’ in NYC.

OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION 2012

“I, SCOTT M. STRINGER, PRESIDENT OF THE BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN, DO HEREBY COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE SPIRITS OF MEXICO FESTIVAL ORGANIZERS AND FEATURED GUESTS ON THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR CITY AND ITS DIVERSITY AND DECLARE THIS WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, MAY 23RD AND MAY 24TH, 2012 ‘SPIRITS OF MEXICO APPRECIATION DAY” IN THE BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN"

In those ten years, the sales of Tequila alone have shown significant double-digit growth. There are now more than 1,260 brands of Tequila on the market, most of which are all the rage, 100% de agaves.

Mezcal, the oldest distilled spirit in North America, has made a formidable entrance and shown distinctive growth. As it can be produced from dozens of varietals including Espadin, Barril, Tobala & Madre-Cuishe, we have only had a taste of what is to come.

Bacanora, from the State of Sonora; Sotol from the State of Chihuahua; Raicilla (formerly known as ‘Mexican Moonshine’) from the South western portion of the State of Jalisco and more product introductions are being produced by our Southern neighbors.

Come celebrate the distiller’s art. Master distillers and blenders, authors, mezcaleros, tequileros, mixologists, aficionados and ambassadors-from world renowned and new-to-market-brands-all meet to share their skills, experience and, of course, their spirits! Sample dozens of signature styles of all of the spirits produced in Mexico.
